Mixed media using acrylics, watercolours, pastels & gold leaf on canvas
40 x 40 x 3.5 cm / 16 x 16 x 1.4 in
Executed in 2017
Ships in a cardboard box
This is the third and final piece in a series of paintings based on a set of photos I took when visiting a gorgeous fishing village called Cudillero, in the north of Spain. I was totally captivated by the evening light reflecting off the little harbour. The pinkness of the sun has now almost completely disappeared, but the beautiful deep turquoises and sea greens start to become more prominent.
This original artwork uses a unique combination of acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. (The painting will be signed on the front in the bottom right)
