Certificate Of Authenticity

Once you've sold a work of art, you must include a Certificate of Authenticity inside the package to be sent to the collector who has purchased the work.

Bosco Hong will provide you with a template to use, or you're welcome to create your own. The template will be emailed to you within the same email as your shipping documents.

A Certificate of Authenticity is a signed document proving the authenticity of the work and containing details about the artwork for the collector's reference. This document needs to be on the inside of your box alongside your artwork.

If creating your own Certificate of Authenticity make sure that it contains the following information:

1. Name of artwork

2. Medium

3. Dimensions of artwork

4. Limited Edition # of # (if this applies to your work),

5. The DATE/MONTH/YEAR the artwork was purchased on Bosco Hong

6. Your (the artist’s) hand-written signature

SHIPPING WORK

Once you sell an artwork, you will receive an email informing you of the sale. You will need to schedule a date and time for our courier to pick up your sold artwork. We’ll also supply you with any shipping documents and labels you may need. Don’t worry about covering the shipping costs, as the collector is responsible for the cost of shipping. You are only responsible for the cost of packaging your artwork.

COST OF SHIPPING

Your customer is responsible for the cost of shipping. The artists are only responsible for the cost of packaging their artworks. Remember your packaging must comply with our thorough Packaging Guidelines so its best to over estimate the cost of packaging materials during your upload and pricing of your artwork. We want for you to still make a healthy profit upon completion of your sale.

The cost of shipping will be broken out to the artists when uploading your artwork. From your customer’s perspective, the cost of shipping is included in the artwork price.

PACKAGING YOUR ARTWORKS FOR SHIPPING

Whether you’ve sold a small artwork on paper, or a 6 foot sculpture, please review our thorough packaging guidelines booklet. You can find this directly attached to this article.

It’s important to remember that our shipping insurance policy is only honored if you have packaged your artwork according to our guidelines. In the unfortunate event that your artwork is delivered with damage, any deviation for our guidelines will result in your sale not be honored. It's incredibly important to package precisely according to our guidelines.

PAYMENT

You will be able to request your payout 7 days after your artwork has been safely delivered to the collector. You can be paid by check, wire transfer, or PayPal. Please note that payouts are typically fulfilled 14 calendar days from the date of your request.

COMMISSION

If you sell an original work, Bosco Hong will receive a 35% commission on the final sale price. If a promotional discount code is offered, the discount will be deducted from the price of the artwork and the 65/35 commission split will then be calculated.

For open edition prints, artists are entitled to 65% of the profit on each sale.* Profit is calculated from the final sale price minus the costs of production.

ABOUT PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNTS

If a discount has been applied to your sale, it's because the collector redeemed a special promotional discount while purchasing your work. On occasion, we offer promotional discounts as an incentive for new and returning collectors to explore the constantly changing selection of artwork on our site. We find that offering promotions from time to time allows artists to gain the attention of collectors previously unaware of their work and a better chance to make future sales.

The discount codes typically give collectors between 10% - 20% off original works, and do not exceed these amounts. For works sold to the trade - interior designers and architects, for example - we give tiered discounts of 10% - 20% off original works.

If you sell an original work, Bosco Hong will receive a 35% commission on the final sale price. If a promotional discount code is offered, the discount will be deducted from the price of the artwork and the usual 65/35 split will then be calculated.

It is worth remembering that Bosco Hong’s commission is 35%, whereas the gallery standard is 50%. This means that very often (even with a discount) you will be earning more through your sales with Bosco Hong than if you were to sell through another gallery that takes 50% commission.

Bosco Hong reserves the right to promote and market Original Works of Art and/or Digital Works through the use of sales and/or discounts. The sale or discount amount will apply to the listing price of Original Works of Art and/or Printed Works relating to the Digital Works. After the discount code is deducted from the sales price, our usual commission of 35% will be applied.
