BOSCO HONG

Bosco's interest in becoming a barrister sparked during his time as a secondary school student. However, he recognised the importance of gaining practical life experience to better empathise with his future clients. As a result, he embarked on a unique path by initially pursuing a career as a professional dancer. In addition to his dance career, he also ventured into the realm of art gallery ownership, where he curated various exhibitions and organised numerous projects centred around fine arts and cultural exchange. These diverse experiences not only enriched Bosco's understanding of different perspectives but also equipped him with a broader range of skills and insights that he believes will greatly benefit him in his future legal career as a barrister.

In 2019, amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, Bosco recognised that it was the opportune time to pursue his legal career. With this in mind, he gained admission to the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), a law conversion course, where he is currently dedicating two full years to his studies while simultaneously engaging in a mini-pupillage.

Bosco's ultimate goal is to specialise in criminal law. He has already demonstrated his potential in this field by successfully defending himself in a case involving the alleged violation of setting down a passenger in a restricted zone (HKSAR v Hong Bosco, ESV 42/2023). During the one-day trial, Bosco cross-examined the witness and dismantled their testimony. His background in theatre and performance arts played a significant role in his ability to exude confidence, utilise body language effectively, and employ persuasive tonality in the courtroom setting. These skills have proven to be invaluable assets in his legal pursuits.

ADVENTUREUR

Bosco Hong is not only an accomplished art professional, but he is also an adventurer with a heart for charity work. From October 5, 2013, to October 3, 2014, he walked a total of 6281.1 km through Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Ireland, Scotland, and England. His incredible journey not only raised funds for a worthy cause, but also showcased his determination, resilience, and adventurous spirit.
